Each finely-furnished guest bedroom has a queen-size bed and its own en-suite. The Blaxland Room features a decadent double spa-bath! Guests are encouraged to linger over Araluen’s sumptuous breakfasts which include scrumptious fruit specialties and a wide choice of cooked dishes plus home-made breads and jams. Gai’s home-made tasty morsels are also there to enjoy whenever you choose to make tea or coffee. Araluen’s many rooms for guests’ enjoyment include the living room with romantic log-fire, reading room with its enticing collection, dining room looking into bushland and the games room with billiard table, piano and DVD library. In addition to the warming open fire, the whole house has central heating and cooling for year-round comfort. Surrounded by verandahs, Araluen is set in an acre of award-winning cottage and native gardens with intriguing nooks and hideaways. Nearby, an easy bush track winds through glades, busy with bird life, and passes Adelina, Junction, Cataract, and Federal waterfalls. All are within a 4 km circuit and are a delight for secluded picnics. The villages of the Central Blue Mountains are blessed with an abundance of fine eateries; or, by prior arrangement, Gai can prepare a gourmet picnic basket for your explorations. Lawson, the original "Blue Mountain" village is just 90km from Sydney, easily reached by good roads or comfortable air-conditioned rail. |
